The North Star PA132D-1 is a commercial, demand-initiated water softener for hospitals, hotels, restaurants, and boiler feed water. The three-tank system has two 4 cu ft fiberglass resin tanks and a 1,000 lb brine tank. A 2 in valve with a turbine meter starts regeneration only when metered water use calls for it.
